Misunderstandings of CNC parts processing

2023-10-13

1. Processing principle error

The machining principle error of CNC machine tools is mainly due to the error caused by the approximate machining movement mode or the approximate tool shape. Because of the error in the machining principle, it is called the machining principle error. This processing method can still be used within the allowable range of the principle error.

2. The geometric error of the machine tool

Machining error, installation error and wear during use all directly affect the machining accuracy of the workpiece. Among these problems, there are mainly the rotary motion of the machine tool spindle, the linear motion of the machine tool guide rail and the error of the machine tool transmission chain.

3. Tool manufacturing error and wear

Tool manufacturing errors, installation errors and wear during use of CNC machine tools affect the machining accuracy of the workpiece. During the cutting process of the tool, the blade, the cutter face, the workpiece, and the chips rub strongly, causing the tool to wear. When the tool wear value is large, the surface roughness of the workpiece increases, and the chip color and shape change, accompanied by vibration. Tool wear will directly affect cutting productivity, machining quality and cost.

4. Fixture error

The fixture error of CNC machine tools includes positioning error, clamping error, clamping error and tool setting error. These errors are mainly related to the manufacturing and assembly accuracy of the fixture.

The machining accuracy of CNC machine tools is impossible to be perfect, as long as the error is controlled within a certain range, it is not important. Tool manufacturing tolerances and wear.

5. Positioning error

Position error mainly includes two aspects: positioning error and positioning sub-processing error. When machining a workpiece on a machine tool, the geometric elements on the workpiece must be selected as the positioning reference during the machining process. A datum non-overlap error occurs when the selected positioning datum does not overlap with the design datum (the datum used to determine the size and location of a surface on a single-part drawing). The positioning surface of the workpiece and the positioning element of the fixture jointly form a positioning pair. The position of the workpiece caused by the manufacturing inaccuracy of the positioning pair and the matching gap between the positioning pairs is relatively large, which is called the manufacturing inaccuracy error of the positioning pair. The positioning pair error processed by the adjustment method can only produce errors, but no errors will occur during the trial cutting process.
